The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
