19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a torrid year, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from spring of that year.
The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and regular emotional displays on court had led some to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an better serve.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to create a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a close third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
